SUNDAY UPDATE- FEDEX CUP

Office of the Commissioner

Wolfville, NS

Gentlemen…

First, I want to thank Darrell and John and their lovely wives for putting on an A+ social event yesterday. I believe the KWGA has found its official “clubhouse” in Wolfville. The place had everything, a swimming pool, pool table, ping pong, darts and even a fork lift for rides on a sunny day. Thanks again boys and girls… that was awesome! Those who had signed up and did not attend missed out on some of the tastiest beef (with a yummy reduction sauce) and pork loin, potato salad, corn on the cobb, individual chocolate and butterscotch cake desserts, brownies and some other items that I cannot recall at this second! We even had visitors walk in on us with purses over their shoulders thinking that the Farm Market was open for business! Thanks again boys!

FEDEX CUP PLAYOFFS UPDATE

Fellas, we have what is referred to as a “clusterbuckle” on our hands after Mother Nature decided to rain on our playoffs yesterday. Anywhere between 9 and 13 holes were completed by competitors yesterday before the rains made things unplayable, including “alternates” who had taken three spots of Top 8 qualifiers who were not on #1 tee Saturday morning (Maxwell, Kelley, Burke). Therefore, the only fair thing to do is to expand the playoffs to the Top 12 qualifiers for next week’s re-scheduled Barclays Championship.

Here is the NEW sequence of events…

  1. Top 12 FEDEX Qualifiers (White, Burke, Rushton, D.Thomson, Maxwell, Kelley, Murray, Fisher, Irwin, Woodworth, Kenny, Johnson) to compete in next Saturday’s re-scheduled Barclays Championship.
  2. The top 4 & ties qualify for the semi-finals (Deutsche Bank) on Saturday September 1.
  3. The Top 2 & ties qualify for the Fedex Cup Final on Saturday September 15 (or a date that works for the two finalists).

The bottom line is this is for fun so let’s get at this next week! Woooooo!

The Commissioner
