After last season’s Ryder Cup, there was chatter as to how much fun guys had with the Match Play format and wished there was more of it during our season. So here it is. This season we will play a single elimination match play bracket during our KWGA schedule to see who will be crowned the inaugural KWGA Match Play Champion. It is impossible to have all matches played on the same Saturdays because the weekly field varies. I will be strategically pairing weekly groups at points during the season to make matchups happen. You will all be alerted during the weekly lead up to Saturday if you have a match.

GUIDELINES

-Your matches will be played during the regular weekly Saturday tournaments minus the 3 majors, if possible, and Ryder Cup week.

-The tournament bracket and matchups will be done by a random name picker online. I will alert you and send you a link via email when the draw is conducted so that you can see your 1^st Round opponent and know where it is posted after. NOTE: The bracket will be completed BEFORE Week 1 of our season. (April 18)

-The Final will be played sometime in August, September or October depending on how fast we can get through this.. I will post any matches taking place on the weekly tournament tab.

• Somebody from each group will have to keep score on the phone app SEPARATE from the regular tournament scoring. That means there will be TWO scorekeepers in your group during weeks there is match play, one for the regular event, and one for the match play. Links will be provided via email the night before the tournament. It’s not that hard to do fellas for this much fun.

RULES:

-18 Hole Matches

-Handicap strokes given to higher handicap. Handicaps for your matches will be based on your KWGA handicap ON THE DATE OF YOUR MATCH.

-Most holes won (Not cumulative strokes).

-Gimmies (Same as regular tournament).

-Win your match…move on in the bracket…lose your match…”Thanks for comin’ out…we won’t be needing you the rest of the season.”. -Dave Nutbrown

-If your match is TIED at the completion of 18 holes…combatants can have a “putt off” on the practice green following the round. A winner MUST be decided that day.

THE BRACKET

-Four (4) of our 28 members will receive a lucky first round bye, to be selected randomly via a Live Draft Name Picker. (There is no way to do it 100% evenly with 28 guys). Suck it up… it’s only a game and it’s free to play.

NOTE- Those lucky four players who receive a 1^st round bye this season will be ineligible for said bye again until all others have received a bye years down the line.
